Every winter, my family and I go on a ski vacation to Beaver Creek for one week. I love to ski and snowboard, but Beaver Creek also has much more than that. Beaver Creek includes many high quality resorts, an ice rink, a park, a snow-shoe tour, and a lovely village at the base of the Centennial Lift.
As I was snowboarding down the mountain, I fell down and broke my wrist! It was as much a surprise to me as it was to my mother and father. My dad immediately dialed the ski patrol number and I was carried down the mountain in a toboggan. At first, I was extremely scared to get into the safety sled because I was not sure how great of a skier the ski patrol was.
Next thing I knew, I had been safely sledded down the mountain and was at the Strawberry Park Hospital. When the doctor told me that I had broken my wrist, I was very sad and asked how I would be able to ski for the remainder of my trip. The doctor told me that they could do a cast in a shape so that I could hold a ski pole, but I decided to ski without poles anyway. So, I left the hospital with the whole operation completed in about an hour, and had full trust in my caretakers including the nice ski patrol. Beaver Creek treated me well, even with a broken wrist.
If you and your family are looking for a place to take a vacation, Beaver Creek is a family friendly vacation resort that serves cookies daily and it is at the top of my list!
