A fun way to make new friends is through Super School News.

A fun way to make new friends is through Super School News. Super School News (SSN) is a program ran by the Rocky Mountain PBS station in Denver Colorado that is made to have students announce news through their school announcements. The privilege of being in Super School News is that once a year everyone participating, gets to broadcast on the Rocky Mountain PBS station. Super School News is so much fun and it is an opportunity for average students to have a once in a lifetime chance.

Most schools have announcements, but it is much more than just "announcements." What you see on your TV screen at school every morning is actually Super School News ran by the Rocky Mountain PBS station. Super School News is just a fun way to have students have the experience of the fun of being on actual TV, making scripts, and having a HUGE responsibility.

Super School News is way more work than you think it is. Not only are you on announcements every morning, but every year you actually get to have a tour of the Rocky Mountain PBS station and shoot an actual SSN video that will soon premier on the Rocky Mountain PBS station. I interviewed Ivy Ammerman from Legacy Elementary in Frederick Colorado about Super School News.

Joey: "What is you favorite part about being on SSN and why?"

Ivy: "Of coarse being on TV, because now my school knows who I am.

Joey: "Would you recommend SSN for other students that are your age.

Ivy: "Well of coarse I would, Joey. It is an experience that everyone should have the chance of doing.

Like Ivy said, I definitely recommend Super School News for all students who have the chance. There are so many reasons why students love Super School News! If you are a new student, you might want your school to know you better, or if you aren't very social, you might like being with your SSN team and hanging out with them. Super School News is so much fun and I wish that everyone will get the chance to experience the fun of Super School News.

You may be in the talent show, or your involved in chess club, but Super School News is an experience that everyone should share. It is not just a group of kids reporting on news, it is kids helping each other and having a story to share when their real job is a 9news anchor. To find out more information, go to www.rmpbs.org/ssn
