"The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins is a thrilling book of action, adventure, and drama. It is a science fiction book staring a 16-year-old-girl. The story takes place in the North American future.
"The Hunger Games" tells about 16 year old Katniss Everdeen who is thrown into a realistic arena in a fight to the death on live T.V. Along the way, she meets 16 year old Peeta, a boy from her same district who is also in the arena with her. Katniss is a cleaver hunter and might be a successful player in the hunger games.
She is up against many people, 24 in all. With some help and a bit of luck she might just win the games. Katniss is a clever girl. She once cut a mutant yellow jacket nest risking her life, but it was worth it. The nest fell on other players and killed two people.
The Hunger Games is about 400 pages and would not be a book for anyone under 4th grade. It has a few violent scenes including death, but know foul language. It is a very magical book that captured me instantly and encouraged me to finish the series.
