Taking a walk through downtown Denver is a melting pot of unpredictable weather, historical architecture and character. The whimsical statues and sculptures on the 16th street art walk is an active outdoor paradise. Though Merideth Conroy and Natasha Mcdougald, both from Florida, say," It's dry and needs more humidity in the winter."
Also, on the art walk is the famous Daniels & Fisher Clock Tower."The clock tower is a period of architecture in Denver's history," Mark Gowan said. He is not the only one who enjoys the stone building. Deneen Pecha loves it and considers it a great historical icon that adds character. It's easy to see from many points in Denver like the Tabor Center. Nina Ehrlich works on the 27th floor and sees the clock tower through her window. Nina also enjoys the coloring of all the statues and explains how great it is to look at and gets your mind off of work on a lunch break. It's a positive energy. Mark Gowan says, "It makes different kind of people see different kind of art without going to an art gallery."
The 16th street mall creates a lot of things to do in the glorious sunshine. Many people say if someone is looking to come to Colorado they would enjoy the warm weather in the summer. In winter, however, some don't like the cold snowy weather but they also say that the Rocky Mountains make the cold weather worth it. Make sure to stop by downtown and see the cool restaraunts and culture. Nina Ehrlich says,"The town is fun and safe."
One of the funnest things is the funky piano's strewn throughout the downtown area. The improv pianos are open to the public and people love the bright neon patterns. It promotes creativity and brightens up everyone's day."It makes it interesting when you are walking around," says Terri Winter. Between the statues, pianos, and loved buildings, 16th street mall and Denver in general has a lot of character and bubbly people.
No one can doubt that Denver is a melting pot and 16th street mall art walk is a great place to walk around and most importantly enjoy the 300 days of sunshine, music, people and history!
