This summer, I went to the tropical Caribbean beaches of the Bahamas and experienced so much in just one week.

The Bahamas is it's own nation and is made up of an archipelago of islands between Florida and Cuba. It has beautiful scenery and is an amazing place for a relaxing destination. The turquoise water and grand coral reefs also provide great snorkeling, scuba diving, and sailing.

When I went to the Bahamas, I stayed at the world-famous Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. Atlantis is more than any other average resort, it makes the myth of Atlantis come to life. The resort is designed to look like it was once the Lost City of Atlantis and has statues of mythical creatures everywhere. It also has a gigantic water park (maybe even with the same number of slides as Denver's WaterWorld), has it's own aquarium, and has numerous activities and evening events to attend.

However the highlight of my trip was definitely being able to swim with dolphins. These astonishing creatures are so smart and friendly. They have been taught many different tricks such as kissing and hugging visitors, splashing water in their faces, and much more. At the end, the dolphins gave every visitor a "foot push" in the water. They pushed us by our heels across the lagoon, which felt like you were flying across the water. It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The Bahamas not only have beach activities, but also have a very unique Caribbean culture. You can go down to the island of New Providence, where the capital of Nassau is located, and experience Bahamian food, music, and traditions.

If you're ever looking for an incredible island vacation but are tired of the usual island destinations, the Bahamas is the place to be. With its gorgeous beaches and Caribbean flavor, you'll never forget your trip to the Bahamas.
