Arctic Giants by Neil Christopher contains Inuit stories about giants roaming the Arctic. It tells you more than just legends–it tells you a little bit about how the Inuits lived and what they did. There is a pronunciation guide at the front of the book that will help you pronounce the giants’ names.One section of the book covers the lesser giants of the Arctic. These ones are a little more cruel than the rest. Most of them are cannibals, tyrants, ogres, or predators. This part may be a tad bit scary for younger kids.The last part of the book covers the greater giants of the Arctic. This part of the story is better for younger kids. These ones are wandering giants, whale hunters, kayak-men giants, stone giants, and wind giants. At the end of some of the descriptions, there is a story about that giant and something that happened to it.This book would be more enjoyable to boys because it has adventure and some scenes that girls may not enjoy. This book is for kids around the ages of 10-13.
