True friendship is what should matter the most in life and The Mother Daughter Book Club really resembles true friendship. That is what I like most about this book.

True friendship is what should matter the most in life and The Mother Daughter Book Club really resembles true friendship. That is what I like most about this book. The four girls in the book which takes place in Concord, Massachusetts, are Emma Hawthorne, an aspiring young writer who has read almost every book in existence and has a giant crush on a boy who is way out of her league. There is Jessica Delaney, a girl who lives on a farm with her father and brothers, her life would be perfect, but her mother has run off to New York to be an actress, that and she has no source of self defense. Then, there is Megan Wong, a fashion fanatic who really needs her old friends back, not the three rich snobby girls that she hangs out with, Becca Chadwick, Jen Webster, and Ashley Sanborn. Finally, there is Cassidy Sloane who loves playing hockey, but must go through some obstacles to do so.

When the four girls' mothers set up a mother daughter book club, everyone meets every month to talk about Little Women, well everyone except Mrs. Delaney. The girls create a new friendship that everyone was happy with- for a while. The girls go through friendship issues, but the story does end happily. If you like the Mother Daughter Book Club, then you'll be sure to like the other three books in the series, Much Ado About Anne, Dear Pen Pal, and Pies and Prejudice. I loved these books and there are no others like it. Enjoy your reading!
