Do you like creative, confidently written books? This easy to read, exciting story, full of funny pictures and humorous knowledge, will make you love reading. If you are 8-12 years old, this is a great book for you.

Derek, the main character, has a friend called Matt, who seems supportive, but really is not. When Derek gets chosen as a stunt boy for a new movie, Matt tries to cover up his jealousy by hanging out with boys that have been mean to Derek in the past, Joe and Swifty. Then, Derek’s monkey Frank mysteriously disappears. Swifty seems responsible. Matt, Derek, Tanya Billings, the actress Derek is doing stunts for, and another friend of Derek’s, Carly, team up to find Frank together.

Since Derek doesn’t want to make his dog Bodi jealous of Frank, he insists that everyone that pets Frank has to pet Bodi, too. If he saves Frank once, he won’t be afraid to save Bodi once. He doesn’t think he should have to choose one over the other. As he’s so good at stunts, he thinks this would be easy. That is why he got chosen as the stunt boy for Tanya.

Just remember, if you don’t like to read but you are forced to, like Derek, try this book. It may change your mind about reading. If you like the author of this book, you could try Janet Tashjian’s other book, My Life as a Book.
