If you haven’t discovered "Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure" yet, this video game is definitely worth looking into.
If you haven’t discovered "Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure" yet, this video game is definitely worth looking into. It may seem like it is more for boys, but it is appealing to girls too.
The Skylanders have been banished from their homes in the Skylands to Earth by the villain Kaos. Place a character on the Portal of Power and watch them come to life in the video game! The objective of the game is to battle Kaos in order to restore peace to the Skylands.
The characters of this game are divided up into different elements: Air, Life, Undead, Earth, Fire, Water, Tech, and Magic. Each element has four different characters, totaling 32 different characters to collect and play with. All of the characters have unique back stories, powers, and special abilities. There are also girl characters, such as Stealth Elf and Hex.
To play the game, you must purchase the starter pack, which includes the Portal of Power, the game, and three characters. The starter pack price varies from 49-60 dollars. To add to your collection you can purchase more figurines either separately, in a pack of three or in an ‘Adventure Pack’. An individual Skylander costs 7 to 8 dollars, and up to 20 dollars for a character three pack. Be aware that some of the characters can only be found at certain stores.
One downside to this game is that if your character runs out of energy while playing, you must remove that character from the portal of power and put a new one on. If you are battling a particularly hard foe, it is easy to wear down all your Skylanders. The more characters you have, the more chances you get at defeating Kaos’ minions.
I really enjoy playing Skylanders because it is creative and fun. The game is pretty easy to play, although it takes a little bit of getting used to. The characters are really amusing and the figurines are very detailed. My favorite character is Wrecking Ball, who is really cute, bowls things over, and uses his incredibly long tongue as a method of defense. Another bonus is that I can take my Skylanders to a friend’s house and play with them there.
The game is available for PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox Live, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS and rated Everyone 10 and up, due to cartoon violence. Up to two people can play the game at a time. Skylanders are sold at Target, Best Buy, Toys ‘R’ Us, amazon.com, Walmart, and Game Stop.
