Summer is here! One of the funnest things to do over the summer is watching professional sports teams play live in their Stadium. There’s nothing like enjoying a hot dog, popcorn, and cotton candy while your favorite team is playing on the field! Denver is home to 3 professional teams that play in the summer – Rapids [soccer], Rockies [baseball], and Rugby. The Rapids play 11 home games this year from June 20 – October 27 at Dicks Sporting Goods Park (6737 South Vine Street Centennial, CO 80121). The Rapids top rated players are Jeff Larentowicz, and the goalie, Matt Pickens. The Rockies play 48 home games at Coors Field (2001 Blake St Denver, CO 80205). Their games are between June 12 and September 27 and the best players are Todd Helton, Jeff Francis, and Carlos Gonzalez. Rugby is also a popular sport, with 20 matches scheduled to be played at Infinity Park/ Stadium, located in Glendale, CO. The matches feature a variety of men’s and women’s teams that play June 3 – August 23.
All three teams are very fun to watch, sitting outside with a nice cool breeze and hearing the crowd cheer for a team they want to win. I love going to games and see famous players on the field waving to everyone in the crowd [including me]! Baseball, Soccer, and Rugby are exciting and very interesting to watch and I hope you get a chance to see a game over the summer!
