'Capture the Flag'- A Museum Mystery

'Capture the Flag'- A Museum Mystery

Imagine if you were in Washington D.C. and the Star Spangled Banner was stolen!  That crazy experience is what happened to 3 kids named Henry, José, and Anna, in "Capture the Flag" by Kate Messner.
It all started at a gala in the Smithsonian Museum of American History, when a security guard was asked to give a group of 4 men a tour. But 5 men showed up, and later the fifth mysteriously disappeared!
Meanwhile, Anna, Henry, and José were only at the gala because of their parents (or in Henry’s case an aunt).   They didn’t talk to each other because they were all too busy but… the next day at the airport they all met again when they saw on the news that the Star Spangled Banner had been stolen!   They were snowed in at the airport so they decided to investigate.   These three kids and a new friend named Sinan went on an adventure to catch the thief, and they found out not everyone is who they say they are.
This book was really interesting and I didn’t want to put it down!   It was very exciting and kept my interest throughout the whole book because it was very suspenseful.  There were also some funny parts in this book because Sinan had a dog that was always hungry.  If you have ever seen the National Treasure movies this book is a little bit like those.  If you like books with adventure and mystery this would be a great book for you.
"Capture the Flag" is 231 pages long and I would recommend this book to kids 8 and up because younger kids may get confused or lose interest. I think many people will enjoy reading Capture the Flag.
