Most people love the Olympics! But too much TV can really effect your eyesight and your physical mind set. Most Americans usually consent to just keep the TV on all the time during the Games. That's fine if your just keeping it on as a lookout for any event you'll want to watch, but if every time you walk past your TV set you sit down an watch whatever is on, that's too much! A question to all the kids out there; does TV really need to be the main hobby over the summer? For most kids the answer is yes. So then, if it is, why? Not all of the Olympic events can be your favorite, and some times you can pick and choose. For example, here's an easy solution to reduce the hours that you will spend at the TV the next few weeks. Pick two events a day that you really, truly want to watch, and at all other times keep the TV off. Or, you can always say that there can only be one or two hours a day and that's all. As for the parents, it will be your responsibility to enforce the rules of the TV for your kids. But sometimes it's the parents who need to have rules enforced upon them… well, in that case, it's the kids who need to tell the adults how to limit their time on the TV. I'm not telling you not to watch the Olympics at all, but just the opposite. Have fun, and don't forget that it's summer, because when your looking for some thing to do besides turn on the TV, the beautiful out doors are always there!
