Jack White Live at Red Rocks

Music sensation Jack White of the White Stripes, Dead Weather and Raconteurs, has spent the summer on tour for his album Blunderbuss and luckily played Colorado’s own Red Rocks on Wednesday night. The sold out seats were filled with screaming fans when Jack played songs backed by a gifted all girl band, the Peacocks. Although Jack White recently released a solo album, he played songs from all his previous bands and it was great to hear a mix of old favorites and new, soon-to-be classics.

The highlight was “The Hardest Button to Button,” a classic White Stripes song. Jack was full of energy as he leaped around stage. He rocked until nearly midnight when he finished with “Goodnight Irene,” a traditional closing, which was as great as any other band that has covered it. As my first show at red rocks, it went shooting like a rocket above my expectations. Unlike some musicians, he didn’t need a recording studio to rock, just distortion pedals and three different guitars. The night was an extreme showcase of unbelievable talent and excellent Rock n’ Roll.
