This past weekend I went to Lake Powell with my mom, my brother and three of my friends families. We rented a house boat and drove it up to Knolls Canyon from Bullfrog Marina. The house boat experience alone was amazing. I stayed on a 75 foot boat. I was also able to sight see at various locations along the lake such as ancient Native American sites and remote canyons. I still think the most fun part is when we did all the recreational stuff like wakeboarding, tubing, and fishing. One of my friends caught a catfish that was big enough to swallow my ten year old brother in one gulp, it was HUGE. Then when I went wakeboarding for the first time I was able to get up on my second try. Tubing was probably the most fun. Me and my friends were trying to knock each other off but when we crashed it was very spectacular. I crashed doing a back flip and I was hurled launched 15 feet in the air. We went during a great time because there wasn't that many people on the lake (relatively speaking) and it wasn't so cold that we did not feel like going in the water or too warm so we had to stay in the water the entire time. If you do happen to go to Lake Powell I would recommend finding a canyon somewhere away from everybody if you have a houseboat. but if not there are still many great places along the lake that you can camp out in a tent. Even though I wasn't able to explore the entire lake I was still able to do a lot of super fun activities.
