Glowing people, mocking crows, and time suddenly stopping without warning is not something one would expect while traveling with a Hollywood makeup artist.

Glowing people, mocking crows, and time suddenly stopping without warning is not something one would expect while traveling with a Hollywood makeup artist. New York Times Bestselling author of “The Immortals” has written another inspiring book with all of its twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last turning page. The first book in this trilogy series – The Soul Seekers, written by Alyson Noel, is titled Fated.

Sixteen year old Daire Santos is the last Santos in her family that can save the world from the Richters. The Richters are the generations of impure heart and soul, with a desire to own the world. It started with dreams and now it must end in something completely different from what expected.

While traveling in Marrakesh alongside a movie star, Daire thinks her 16th birthday couldn't get any worse (thus not so easily impressed). Her reaction to the certain music along the road-side proved her theory to be false when she saw many crows and ravens that anybody else couldn't see. When no doctor could figure out the problem, Daire's mother thought it best to send her with a grandmother she never knew existed before.

The Grandmother, Paloma helps Daire realize her future as a soul seeker. At first, Daire is skeptical and soon learns to trust her spirit animal throughout all of it's twists and turns and journeys to the upper and lower world(s). Daire must survive all of the challenges that she faces to do what she is destined to do.

As Daire uncovers the secrets of her past, she learns the past of the Richters. One particular Richter is trying to take over the world with demon-like animals. Cade Richter took bits of souls and fed it to the animals. Yet, Cade's twin, Dace Whitefeather is helping Daire Santos fight for the world. Dace and Daire must endure their love for each other and save the universe one-on-one.

This book is perfect for young teens who are looking for a little romance, action, and adventure. The novel can be considered as a simulated version of The Hunger Games series because of the challenges and life threatening situations – though the characters are nothing alike. The next book in this trilogy series will be “Echo”, coming in Winter 2013.
