The Wrath of Zozimos by Christopher Ford, is a graphic novel that tells the adventures of a mythical hero.

Zozimos’s Uncle Nestor tells Zozimos a story that the queen of Sticatha murdered his father and turned his siblings into crows. Nestor wants him to reclaim the throne so he can have his position back and so Zozimos can have his throne.

When his uncle Nestor kidnaps him to set him on track to reclaim his throne on Sticatha, Zozimos escapes when the guardian of the forest, a giant boar, almost steps on them. Zozimos wanders out of the forest and heads into the desert covered by a blazing sun.
As Zozimos wanders through the desert after his friend Alexa started to cross it so he follows. When he’s nearly dying of thirst Athena, a god, toys with him as she creates oasis after oasis of vinegar. Then, he sees Alexa passed out on the horizon and he has to carry her to the nearest water source, a river on the edge of the desert. After they drink to their fill they look up to see the city of Sticatha.
They travel through the inner gates to see the queen, Alexa’s mother. The queen says that Zozimos’s father was an evil king and he expanded Sticatha by war on other lands. That was why she murdered his father and it turns out he never had any siblings. The queen would let him have his throne back on one condition. To prove his worthiness as The King of Sticatha he has to bring back a golden feather with the power of the gods from the edge of the world before Nestor comes back with a huge army to destroy Sticatha.
The Wrath of Zozimos is a good graphic novel for 10-13 year olds who want a good read about Greek mythology and a clumsy character. Be sure to read the first book of this series An Epic Doodle!
