Have you ever got your fortune told by a Wookie? In the book The Secret of The Fortune Wookie by Tom Angleberger lots of people get their fortunes told. This book is the third book in the Origami Yoda series. The first book in this series is The Strange Case of Origami Yoda, the second book in this series is Darth Paper Strikes Back. Every book is a case file on whether Origami Yoda is real. Origami Yoda and Origami Chewbacca were all created by Dwight, the weird kid. Supposedly, they tell peoples fortunes or give them advice. However, this book is a case file on whether Origami Chewbacca is real. Or, is he a fraud?
In this story, various people participate in writing what happened with Origami Chewbacca. These people include, Tommy, Kellen, the artist of the story, Harvey, the annoying kid, Sara, and many more people that were involved with Chewbacca. Without Dwight, the weird kid, who created Yoda and Chewbacca, the school was depressed. It didn't seem right without the kid who sat in class, didn't do his homework, and said "Purple" at random times. Then, Origami Chewbacca came. Now, if anybody had a problem they could come to the Fortune Wookie, who was owned by Sara. The Wookie helps various people, but it only has eight fortunes to tell. Then, Harvey asks the 9th question to the Fortune Wookie. Will the Wookie tell another fortune, or is it a phony?
I thought this book was a great book. The author made you laugh and he made you feel like you were in their school. Although, sometimes the drawings in the margins got a little distracting while you were reading. Overall, this is a great book for an 8-11 year old looking for a story about Star Wars.
