I did not enjoy this book as much as I thought I would because it had too many gaps in the plot. In my opinion the author rushed the plot too fast. I also thought that the author did not explain the characters and their roles very well. Some of the pictures did not help give a good image of what was happening in the story. I had mixed feelings about this Graphic Novel because in my opinion the author did not capture the true essence of the City of Ember. I definitely enjoyed the book better than the graphic novel. This Graphic Novel was definitely an easy and quick read for me and I would recommend it for people who have read the original book City of Ember. You can still read the graphic version of City of Ember before reading the book first but I recommend that you read the City of Ember book first.
