Ashes of Twilight, by Kassy Taylor is an action packed tale of dwindling hope and gritty survival. Winding down every twist and turn of Wren’s life as with each decision she makes the less time and choice she has. Unfortunately, when one person steps out of line, everyone has to pay for it, in one way or another.
For nearly two hundred years, the people have been burrowed out beneath the dome, the giant solid sky incasing them in. During the mid-nineteenth century the city was constructed to protect the royal people of England from the harm of an oncoming comet in course with Earth.
Now, rumors dance around, in and out of ears and eat up the minds full of wonder, pondering if the life outside is still being licked up by hot flames, or if there is a secret being kept? When everyone is wrapped into a knot so tight that everyone has to help unwind it, the truth will begin to unravel, sacrifices will be made, and all hope will be riding on the trust that is given out.
This exceptional novel, Ashes of Twilight, wrapped me up in the excitement and every time I slipped it open, I felt the joy surge up through me as I became a part of the book. As my heart beat faster, I felt the words come to life, the real life presence of the story line sweeping me up into it.
I would give this novel a five out of five star rating, the pace, the drama, and the characters were embedded so well into the paper that it had glued me to the novel. It reminds me of another one of my favorite series, The Hunger Games, written by Suzanne Collins, where in both, the world is crashing down on the shoulders of the few chosen by fate with a revolution at the palm of their hands.
The only question is if they will light the match and set fire to the burning embers, waiting to burn up and take over. Pick up this novel and then you will find out!!!
