The special Extravaganza on Sunday Jan. 13, has a interesting Mexican twinge that sets the crowd on fire. The whole Coliseum was filled with interested fans and crowds. The Extravaganza held dancers, mariachi band, and the regular danger and action of other rodeo sports. As you know, the regular everyday rodeo shows riders on bulls, broncos, and horses, but this was just so much different. All the dancers were dressed in the traditional beautiful dresses and clothing that you normally see them dance in. The mariachi was exceptionally wonderful and had quick fun beats for the riding. As for the livestock, that’s a whole different story.
The mariachi was just amazing. They always set the mood for the event going. For example, the riding they played quick moving and heart pumping music to get the audience exited and in the western mood. The dancers did amazing and kept great time to the mariachi’s music. The riders and buckers did exceptional. With such a big crowd, they seemed calm and stayed on their broncos and bulls for major times. The riders on horses were beautiful. All riders and beautiful and well trained horses made to be on stage. As an extra fun moment, they added a long time bullfighter with hilarious skits and life lessons to the program. Another good for the family moment is when the five to seven year old kids come out and muttin’ bustin’.
As well done and entertaining this was, it was still a two hour long show, and for younger kids can get bored with the long time sitting and watching people ride livestock. This Mexican Extravaganza was done wonderfully by everyone participating and next year when the Stock Show is in town, the first Sunday would be a good time to go see the Mexican Extravaganza.
