“The Lost Treasure of Tuckernuck” by Emily Fairlie, is a fun and exciting book that brings curiosity into your mind. From the first word to the last word the author made me feel as if I were actually there with Laurie and Horace “Bud”. Maria Tutweiler, the first school principal, hid a treasure when the school was being built.  When the school was ready Maria told the kids about the treasure so that they could look for it.  With a limited amount of time left to find the treasure because the school was in danger of shutting down, Laurie and Bud teamed up. As they get closer to the treasure they must find ways to keep it a secret so they stayed after class, set a few pranks, and snuck into rooms! While they try to keep the treasure secret, somebody is watching their every move. Will Laurie and Bud find what they were looking for? Who's hot on their trail?  On a scale of one to ten I would give this book a seven. I would recommend this book for kids 8 years and up due to some tricky words. The rest of the book was very interesting. I think the author used lots of descriptive words that made the book even more amazing!
