I read “Get Ready for Jetty” by Jeanne Kraus. Jetty is a girl who has ADHD. This is a type of disability and it makes Jetty have a hard time in school. Her teacher Mrs. Taylor gives her bad jobs for class, like table washer and sweeper. Jetty doesn’t like her teacher at all! Jetty is in fourth grade and she loves karate, cartwheels, reading and cookie-dough ice cream. But she dislikes girly girls, anything pink and writing in complete sentences! Jetty has a tutor and her tutor teaches her how to live with ADHD. Jetty’s tutor helps her with her homework, spelling, reading and science.
I loved “Get Ready for Jetty” because Jetty is a girl like me and even looks a little like me. This book is a diary, it has real pictures of Jetty, and some pictures are drawn in the book too. There are 100 pages about Jetty in this book.
I really encourage you to read this book if you are a girl or boy. This book is easy but I think 3rd-5th graders should read it because beyond that point this book might get a little babyish. I would give this book on a score from 1-10 a 10 because it is a really great book! At the back of the book it tells you about ADHD and gives you a lot more information about it. If you don’t know what it is, then you should read it like I did. It only took me one night to read “Get Ready for Jetty” so this book is pretty short. And I think that you should get ready to read this awesome book!!
