The Fairy Godmother Academy is a very enchanting book by Jan Bozarth. This story begins as a realistic one but becomes increasingly more imaginative towards the end. It is mainly about Trinity, a 13-year old girl, who was given an heirloom necklace which transformed her into a fairy and transported her to a different world. She had a mission that no other fairy ever attempted–to go to Cantigo Uplands (which is on top of a TALL tree which extends through the clouds) to save the soon-to-be fairy godmother. Since no fairy has ever come back from there alive, this was an immense quest. Also, if she didn’t hold the soon-to-be fairy godmother when it was born, the baby’s life was at stake. I would recommend that you resist peeking at the last few pages because that would ruin the excitement and fun!
This is a very venturesome novel which I recommend to kindergartners through second grades (to have it read to them) and third graders (an independent read) that enjoy fairy passages. Personally, I thought that this book somewhat of a young book for a 5th grader, but it was a pleasant read. Over all, this novel is worth checking out. Happy reading!
