Today I got the pleasure of meeting Jenna Madison the Manager of Studio and Artist Programs .She taught me about a world renowned artist named Nick Cave and art work that can’t be forgotten.
At the visit to Nick Cave exhibit was a prime example of making nothing in to a masterpiece. I say this because all of the items and stuff that was on his piece were old stuff that no one wanted anymore. There was one part of the exhibit were it made people eyes jump out of there head it was a Soundsuits as Nick Cave calls them. These are masculine colorful and very rhythmic suits that people were during a dance. Jenna Madison talked about these suits and how they came to be. She told us these suits purpose at one point were to be a sculpture but since he had a dance back round he thought this would be great in dance.
Nick Cave grew up with seven older siblings and a single mother he was always encouraged by his mom to pursue his dream in art. In college he mainly studied sculpture and fiber at Kansas City Art School. Most people may know him as an artist but he was also a dancer. While he was dancing he met Alvin Ailey. After he got done with Academy of Art he then went back to art. He is now living in Chicago and has a Gallery in New York.
Nick Cave is a great artist and one of the best artist right now and I am glad I got to see his work he is worth checking out. He is not just an artist who make art but a artist who tells stories.
