“No act of writing is ever wasted” – Kathleen T. Pelley. Through childhood to adulthood, Kathleen has treasured stories. For her, books show people life and what it means to live. She doesn’t show war or crime, she show how even in times of despair, how to stay strong.

In Scotland, where she grew up, hearing and reading stories and a lot of writing for school helped inspire her. Inspire means what breathes life into you. Her dad was also an inspiration to her stories because he loved animals and nature and taught her to love books and reading. Writing became part of her, like for some people sports would or school.

Writing makes you happier and more thoughtful. Having times of quiet is important to Kathleen because thoughts, even if they aren’t going to be stories are good for her because “The more you create, the more there is to create.”

She has published five picture books but has written many more stories. Her first story, the Giant King she emphasizes that if a person is treated badly he will most likely treat you badly back.
