This is a very interesting novel with many concepts. It can be told from two points of view. Keep in mind that this is a companion novel to A Tale Dark & Grimm although I haven’t read that and this book still made sense to me.
This is told in two perspectives. The author’s and the main character’s. The whole story is told by the author in the main character’s point of view with little inputs from the author, explaining things and making comments.
The main characters are two little kids named Jorinda and Joringel. They are brother and sister. They grow up throughout the story and face many adventures and many surprises along the way. They always say to each other, “If you won’t leave me, I won’t leave you.” They would always reply, “I will never, ever leave you.” This may be true and it may not, you will just have to see. Throughout the book, they both go on many adventures both together and separate. The are many cliff-hangers and plot twists that you won’t see coming.
This book is told in chapters, each named as a different story. Jorinda and Joringel are in them all. I would rate this book 8 out of 10 stars for all the action and adventure. I would also rate this as 11 and up for some scary details and some sadness, but only a little bit. I would recommend this to fans of adventure and action or to anyone looking for a good read and entertainment. This is a really great book.
