Raging waves crash against the side of your boat along with comedic action and adventure in James Patterson's and Chris Grabenstein's funny new book called ”Treasure Hunters”. “Treasure Hunters” is the first book in the new illustrated series. It features four kids and their adventure to find a shipwreck full of gold, some long-lost artifacts, world-famous paintings, and most importantly, their missing parents.

The story begins with the Kidd family losing their father to the perfect storm in the Caribbean Sea. Three months before they lost their father, the Kidd’s mother went missing in Cyprus. Now twins, Bick and Beck, and their older siblings, Storm and Tommy, are thrust into the biggest treasure hunt of their lives all while trying to unravel the mystery of what happened to their parents and keep the business of treasure hunting going.

The Kidd family grew up on a sailboat without IPods, IPads, IPhones, or pizza. They were homeschooled by their parents and are very smart, at least two grades beyond where they should be. The twins have been searching for treasure with their parents since they were three years old.

This is a smooth sailing book that takes you on an adventure through mammoth seas, trading posts, fights with pirates, and much more. Treasure Hunters keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. It has beautiful pictures that are fun to look at. My favorite was Beck’s self-portrait in Van Gogh’s style. If you like intellectual books that make you think, then this is not the book for you. Treasure Hunters is easy to read and follow. I would recommend this for ages 8-12.

Overall, I loved the book and would recommend it to adventure and mystery lovers. Will Bick, Beck, Storm, and Tommy find their parents? Read Treasure Hunters to find out!
