The National Western Stock Show is back in town and it runs until January 26. It is a tradition over 100 years old and only happens in Denver. At this annual event besides stock/animals, there are trailers, boots, jeans, hot tubs, jewelry, food, and so much more to purchase. You can also buy hair products to groom animals!
There are brushes, hairspray, and even spray paint that is animal-safe to make an animal’s coat look glossier. Some of the names for cleansing products include Swine Shine and Hog Heaven for pigs, Wonder Wool and White Pearl for llama, and many more!
The best selling product at Sullivan Supply, Inc. at the Stock Show booth is the “Tail Adhesive”, which functions like a regular hairspray for humans, but it is used on the tails of cows and horses to give them more body.
Certain products can and are used by humans but the manager of the shop here in Denver, Dustan Bresnock, says, “I wouldn’t advise all of our products, but some of our shampoos and conditioners, humans can use them.” Some customers prefer to use hair shampoos that are normally made for horses.
Most bottles of animal product can last about 1-1.5 years and can be sold by the gallon. To wash a cow, llama, pig, goat, horse, and most other animals you would find on a farm, you just use foamers, which is an attachment that you add to a hose, as Bresnock explained. Some of the other activities include a chainsaw demonstration, horse and tractor rides, and much more! General admission costs $2 for kids ages 3-11 and $13 for people 12 and older. Children ages 2 and younger are free! The Stock Show is a family friendly place for people of all ages to enjoy.
