In the mind of Emmet, the ordinary LEGO construction worker, "everything is awesome."  The last thing that he expects is an all out crazy adventure from LEGO world to LEGO world, on a mission to save the universe.

Emmet, being an ordinary LEGO construction worker, always follows directions and never has an original thought.  When he mistakenly finds the one object that will save the universe from a looming treat, he is called upon by the Master Builders (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Dumbledore, Gandalf, Abraham Lincoln, and many more) to help them defeat the evil once and for all.  He is appointed as the Special.

This movie had incredible animation and great characters.  The end of the movie has an unexpected twist, which was very clever.  There were also many references to other movies such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and even the Green Ninja from the kids show Ninjago.

The humor in this movie was also another huge plus.  Nearly every minute there was some form of laugh out loud comedy that kept the movie fresh and witty.  The only problem I had with the movie was the constant action.  There were not many breaks, and by the end of the movie I was actually tired.

I would recommend this movie to all ages, though younger children might not get the references as much as others.  Other than that, this action packed movie is great for both young and old.  So buckle up and get read to save the universe!
