What is hope to you? A dirty window? A rock? In Hope is a Ferris Wheel, join Star Mackie on her quest to find out what hope is—and who she is.

Star Mackie has about ten times the number of problems of any other ten-year-old-girl. She lives next to the dump, the kid who sits in front of her in class hates her for no reason at all, and she is constantly teased by the kids at school because of her layered blue hair. On top of it all, Star’s older sister, who has always been there for her, has turned her back on Star. Everything is already difficult enough, but it only gets worse when a man steps into the picture—a man who might know who Star really is.

A captivating novel, Robin Herrera’s Hope is a Ferris Wheel will leave all who read it practically begging for more. Robin Herrera makes sure that it is not humanly possible to put down this novel once you have started it…

…once you get past the beginning. The story starts out slowly, and for the first few chapters it’s difficult to figure out who everyone is and what exactly is going on. While you’re reading those first few chapters, it’s very easy to get confused.

But don’t let the beginning scare you away! This book is outstanding! However, it includes mature topics, and is probably best for kids twelve and up.

Hope is a Ferris Wheel is a must-read novel about a girl on her quest to find hope. And by must-read, I mean that you must read this story! Don’t miss out on this brilliant book!
