How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff is about a girl called Daisy who gets stuck in a foreign war.

Daisy is a 15 year old teenager who is sent from New York to go stay with her cousins in England. Her cousins are quirky, and they do things that seem crazy. Their mother is on a business trip, so there are no rules.

Daisy soon is in the middle of a war. Her cousins are the only things that keep her alive. She learns to not take things for granted.

This book is confusing to read because there are a lot of run-on sentences. The run-on sentences are important because the whole book is told in the voice of Daisy. Though there isn’t a lot of punctuation, the book is full of adventure and some tragedy.

I recommend this book for people 13 and up because some parts of the book are very graphic, and there is some bad language. These parts are important for the story because they bring the war to life.

Overall How I Live Now kept me on the edge of my seat. Daisy’s story is very exciting and suspenseful. I couldn’t put the book down.
