The Orchard of Hope by Amy Neftzger is a unique, interesting tale of a young girl named Kelsey who is sent on a long hard journey with two other people,Roland and,Maggie. The wolves are vigorously eating the hope off the trees and Kelsey,Roland and Maggie have been excepted to save it. Meanwhile,Moss a sorcerer is coaching Nicholas (a sorcerer in training) how to overthrow the evil sorcerer who may be behind this all.
I give this book a 4 out of 5. This book has a fabulous plot, great transitions, and a wonderful theme. I love the idea of hope on trees and it is actually living and growing! The only bad thing about this book is sometimes I got bored because it would go on and on about the same thing. A conversation between the characters seems like it lasts five pages. I think the book could be a lot shorter if it didn’t repeat. That is why I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
I definitely recommend this for ages 8-12 because it doesn’t have any difficult words to understand at all but it is longer than some 8-12 aged books. Over all, the Orchard of Hope was an entertaining page turner with a fantastic theme, and plot to die for even though the book did repeat.
