Sheila Fergusson and Brian Jones are the co-founders of a group called Little Shop of Physics
Today, Sheila and Brian visited us at the Denver Post Building in Denver. They showed us a cool
camera that measures infrared rays coming from whatever you point the camera at. After a
while of experimenting “free roaming” with the expansive cameras the gave us all a smaller
camera that measure a more vague area of the room.

Soon after they showed the group an experiment showing thermal radiation from the earth.
We stacked glass plates and then heated them up and measure their temperatures. We
proceeded to discuss why the temperatures were different.

In an interview with Brian we received some answers about why he does these
experiments and about how he started the Little Shop of Physics.

We asked Brian Jones, “ Why is your group called the Little Shop of Physics?”
Jones replied, “ we named our group after the old movie Little Shop of Horror but cool things instead of scary.”
“How did you get into science?”, we asked Jones
Jones replied ,”I have always been into how and why things work, I also did many small experiments as a kid and I knew i wanted to be a scientist.”
our last question for Jones was about his beliefs, “ what do you believe everyone should do?’
Jones thought for a while and replied with ,” I think that everyone should wake up and think about what they could do to make the world better.”
