New York City is quickly being invaded and taken over. The evil group, calling themselves the Foot Clan, have taken control of everything: the people, police, and even the politicians. There is no hope in New York City, until four turtles come along. Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, and Leonardo are not your normal, average turtles. No, they are the one and only Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And these turtles, along with their Savior, April O’Neil, will destroy the growing Foot Clan and save the city of New York from the evil Shredder.
When I first walked into that theater, I knew nothing of the comic books or the Nickelodeon television show. After the movie was over, I knew all about the back story of the Turtles, their “dad” and how April O’Neil tied in with the history of the brothers.
Although the very beginning of this film was a bit confusing, after about twenty minutes I knew exactly what was going on.
There was one scene towards the end of the movie that made me believe that this movie was one of the best 3D movies I have ever seen. All of the snow, trees, trucks, and even people were flying left and right, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I think the 3D is definitely worth the extra money to see.
Despite the amount of comedy (which was perfect, and very funny), there is definitely a reason this movie is rated PG-13. There are guns, kidnappings, deaths, fighting, and some very scary and violent stuff. I would recommend this movie to ages of about 9-10+ because of some mild language and action violence. I would also rate this at about 4 out of 5 stars.
