Soccer on Sunday brings Jack, Annie and you on a fun adventure to Mexico City. Jack and Annie are trying to find the fourth secret of greatness from a world famous soccer player, Pele, at the World Cup in Mexico City. After getting into the tree house, they figure out that they have two of the best tickets in the Aztec Stadium.
When they say the magic words, they suddenly appear in Mexico City where they discover a friend named Benny. He gives them directions to the World Cup. When they get to the wrong street, they find out that they have only a few hours to get to the World Cup. Fortune gets a hold of them as they get to the metro in time, but when they get on, trouble appears when they can’t figure out where to get off of the metro.
Luckily, they meet a kind-hearted kid named Roberto who is also going to the World Cup. When they figure out it is his birthday, they give one of their tickets to Roberto. Jack and Annie plan to switch seats at half time, but misfortune is discovered when Jack can’t find Annie in the tremendous crowd.
You don’t have to read the series before reading this book. I would suggest that you read the three books before this because Mary Pope Osborne wrote the Magic Tree House books in groups of four.
This book tells that sharing is a great act of kindness. I recommended this book to kids ages 7 and up who love an astonishing adventure combined with historical fiction.
