The main character's name is Sarah, she isn't very happy about her dad marrying another woman, after her mother had died. The first family dinner did not go very well, there was definitely some tension in the room!
The stepmother, Yvonna, and Sarah's dad decided to take a five day cruise around the Fiji islands. Sarah and her new step brothers thought it was a terrible idea. They didn’t like the thought of new sisters and brothers bonding! Sarah refused to pack her suitcase. It wasn’t only her who didn’t want to pack, it was all three kids. The family “cheerfully” carried their bags to the dock where The Moonflight was docked.
The brochure of the boat they were taking was nothing like what they thought it was going to be. The boat Moonflight was an old and rusty ship, but on the brochure it was a luxury cruise ship. The captain introduced them to his wonderful ship. They had a thoughtful look around, and many faces and comments were given. The downstairs didn't seem like a big problem. As the kids had different thoughts than their mom and dad, the parents took control and they unpacked the bags.
I think that this book is mysterious and suspenseful because when Sarah’s new family got onto the boat, it started out to be a beautiful day, no clouds in the sky. In a flash, the sky darkened and rain began to sprinkle. A minute after another, the rain began to pour and the wind would make the sails almost fly off. What will happen next? Read this book and you will find out.
I think that this book sometimes had confusing events, but if you keep reading, it will all make sense. The author used many high-language words to describe the wonderful events in the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who would loves suspense, mystery, and anyone who will use their imagination to bring the Ship Wreck Island to life.
