“The Ghost in the Glass House,” by Carey Wallace is about a young curious twelve-year old Clare Fitzgerald. This preteen loves spine-chilling adventures and secrets.
When Clare discovers a strange glass house in the backyard of her new summer home in a 1920s resort town, she is anxious to uncover the secrets of this interesting glass house. But in that strange house, there are more than just secrets…there’s a ghost. Clare is eager to know more about where this mysterious ghost came from and why he is there.
Later on, Clare grows very fond of this friendly ghost named Jack, and over the summer, they fall in love.
With everything happening so quickly, Clare is starting to notice peculiar things happening with her mother, Jack, and the glass house.
In my opinion, this book was not my favorite. There were many slow parts at the beginning of the book that didn’t quite keep me hooked. But although there are many slow parts, there are definitely many twists and turns that keep you at the edge of your seat! I would give this book three and a half stars out of five.
This is absolutely a young adult book. The content is very mature, and there are fairly tough words. I would recommend this novel to teens that love mysteries with a dose of romance.
