Everything in the genealogy section is donated directly from families and the Colorado Genealogy Society. In order to protect the people's privacy they aren't aloud to publish addresses or phone numbers until 70 years later. People from all over the world come to learn information about their family, relatives and ancestors. The books go all the way back to the 1600’s!

Some of the books can not be checked out because they are to old. The books are sorted in alphabetical order by last name. The library has copies of every single book in the library not just genealogy. One book has everything in it from number of kids to health records. You are not aloud to check out any of the genealogy books they are just for “show”.

Another interesting room on the 5th floor is the tenth mountain division room. The Tenth Mountain Division is a group of soldiers who fought in world war 2. They were not just any soldiers they were soldiers that could ski really well. That made them have an advantage because they could get from one place to another faster than their enemies. They would carry their guns on a strap on there back so then they can still hold their ski poles and have easy access to their gun.

Those are only some of the very interesting facts about the Tenth Mountain Division and the genealogy section.
