The Denver Post introduced us to the world of news. We went and learned many things like photography and other things like journalism. Our awesome team 9 was taught about photography by Brent Lewis who is a photographer for the Denver Post. We learned about lighting and motion and composition are factors that Lewis looks for in the images. Lewis said that he takes a picture that is alive and pictures of many things. He said that, “Everything has a moment.” He taught us how taking pictures was not his dream job until his grandfather gave him a camera.
He also told us about the the way to know where to take the picture. Something he says is that, “Photography is art.” That is a good fact because if you look at a photograph, you can start to see some art. Another thing that he told us is that, it is what the person sees in the picture and what they see is what they see. So people can see art in photos. When Lewis said to us about his images that, “I’m not creating things, I’m just capturing moments.” This is such a great quote to think about.
Lewis went to Northern Illinois, Columbia for school. After getting his job for the Denver Post, he now is not thinking of any new jobs right now. Before he wanted to be an electrical engineer. He also gave group 9 some tips is we want, to become photographers. One is to, “work hard” the second one is to follow the news on the computer or, paper. Lewis got his inspiration by Mr.Walker. He made good images and inspired Lewis. Lewis also met him and started to take pictures after.
