“My brother is a superhero” by David Solomons, is an exciting book about Zack, a 12 year old kid, who is turned into a superhero when a space ship shows up out of no where. He all of a sudden gets telekinesis, flying, mind radar, underwater breathing, and space breathing powers. His brother Luke was pretty ticked off because Zack had no idea what to do with his powers. Luke, being the comic book fan that he is, knew all about them!! Luke and Zack lived in a city with their parents. They have a couple of friends named Serge and Lara. Lara is bossy and Serge is also a comic book fan like Luke. It is pretty funny reading about how Luke, Serge and Lara try their best to help Zack out.
This book has a lot of comedy and action. For example, it was funny because Luke was on the toilet when Zack received his super powers. It was full of action, for example, when Zack stops bank robberies or stops speeding buses with his new powers. There, of course, is a bad guy in this story. His name is Christopher Talbot owner of the Crystal Comic Store. You’ll have to read the book to find out what mischief he causes.
On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being best, I would rate this book a 9.5. I recommend this book for kids around age 8-10. It is 290 pages long and I was able to read it in two days. It is an easy read.
