The Micro Sprite scooter by Micro Kickboard is a unique aluminum scooter. Despite being compact and lightweight, it still gives a comfortable ride to tall riders weighing up to 220 pounds. It is available in 7 different colors, but mine was a nice silver color. It is designed for ages 8+.
The scooter is VERY light. It only weighs 5.5 pounds and folds small enough to fit in a backpack. It came out of the box ready to use (no assembly required). The folding system is simple and easy to use. The scooter also has a built-in kickstand, which is a very useful feature.
This scooter has a smooth and fast ride. The deck is higher than my 4 previous scooters, and the wheels are also larger. This combination makes for a comfortable, yet stylish, ride. For example, you can get over obstacles such as cracks, speed bumps, and uneven pavement smoothly. Other scooters that I have ridden made my legs hurt after riding on bumpy pavement for a while. This scooter didn’t bother my legs at all. One interesting note is that the front wheel is larger than the back wheel.
The part I was most impressed with is how the scooter worked for my height. I am 5’ 8”, and most scooters are uncomfortable because I have to bend forward to reach the handlebars. This scooter has adjustable handlebars (that are also cushioned and soft). I was able to stand straight up and ride. The handlebars go up to 37” from the ground.
At the skate park it handled very well for basic tricks like tail whips, dropping in, and clearing a box. However, this scooter would definitely not hold up as well as the heavy duty trick scooters.
The Micro Sprite scooter can be found at select toys stores in the Denver area, on the Amazon website, or directly from microkickboard.com for $99. I highly recommend this scooter. This company also sells other versions of scooters for adults and kids, so check them out if you want a nice ride.
