The latest movie from Marvel, the creator of the Avengers and multiple other superheroes, is an action-packed thriller that will send a chill down your spine. As you can see from the movie posters and the many trailers, Captain America (Chris Evans) battles some of his own teammates who are led by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).
“Captain America – Civil War” is a movie with lots of action and adventure, but it also has humor and comedy throughout the film. This summer blockbuster also has many plot twists and turns, keeping viewers on the edge of their seat.
The main story occurs due to the governments of the world (117 of them) trying to control the Avengers. Captain America and friends do not believe that the Avengers should be controlled by governments. Iron Man and friends believe that the Avengers should be controlled by governments. So a battle of epic proportions occurs.
Many (but not all) of the Avengers appear in the movie, and to the thrill of Marvel followers, a few new superheroes (villians?) appear. The biggest addition to the movie is Spider-Man, a young boy who has some of the funniest lines in the movie. One funny quote from the movie is Tony Stark (Iron Man) asking Peter Parker (Tom Holland), an awkward, geeky high school boy, if he can go to Germany with him. Peter replies that he can’t go because he has homework!
This movie is quite long (2 hours and 26 minutes), but the time goes by very quickly. Honestly, I wish the movie was longer. As you can guess, the movie has a lot of action scenes and is rated PG-13.
Going into this movie, I expected explosions and battles. I also expected Captain America to fight a lot. I was not disappointed. Even though I have seen the other Captain America and Avenger movies, I sometimes found that there were story lines that were hard to follow. Since there are so many superheroes and characters in this movie, that is expected.
Spider-Man was actually my favorite superhero in the film. He was really funny. He was always complimenting and admiring his enemies, even while he was battling them. Try doing that next time you are battling a superhero! Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) was also very funny and seems to be unsure of his various powers (from super small to super big).
Stan Lee, the original creator of the Avengers, gets a very small part in each Avengers movie. He plays a delivery man at the very end and has one of the funniest lines in the whole movie. Let’s just say that Tony Stark, the character who is Iron Man, will never be able to live this insult down.
I definitely give two thumbs up for this movie!
