At Metropolitan State University of Denver there are many ways to exercise- one way is basketball. This campus is shared with three colleges, Colorado University of Denver, Community College of Denver, and Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU). Since they all share the same campus they have a gymnasium that shares three basketball courts since there’s no other place for the other two basketball courts.
I think this is great, they have two sets of bleachers. They pull down the bleachers for games. There is also VIP seating up above the courts where you have a great view of the game, also in VIP seating you can order food and they’ll bring your food to you. There is a capacity of the gymnasium is about 2,200 people. It’s also nice that the locker rooms are courtside so after the game the athletes don’t have to walk far.
However, not every thing at MSU’s Rec. Center is in good shape.
Two years ago MSU had to drain their swimming and diving pool because of leaks they still haven’t filled the pool. The reason is because this would mean MSU would have to get $1 million to fix the pool the campus wasn’t or is willing to spend that money on their pool. We talked with Louie Morphew, the Associate Director of Campus Recreation at Auraria. He said the pool would probably never be filled again.
