The Dior exhibit is currently at the Denver Art Museum, for the first time in the United States. The tour starts with an unexciting first room full of black dresses, and an unusual sculpture.
Then the dresses get very exciting. They have dresses entirely made of beads, battle armor, fabric, and much, much, more. They had audio tours that tell you about the history of the Dior House and dresses.
There were three-digit numbers on the platforms to correspond with the audio tour about one dress in each room. It will tell you about the history of the dress, the person who made it, and what materials they used.
Each dress was beautiful, and had elegant designs.
There was one based on fortune telling, a exhibit of dresses based on flower gardens, and two more based on peacocks. One even was made of armor!
In one area of the exhibit, there was a T-shirt!
The last room is dresses representing countries from all over the world. There was a Dias de Muertos dress representing Mexico, a Statue Of Liberty dress representing New York, a Pharaoh dress representing Egypt, a tiger dress representing Africa, and a Eiffel tower dress straight from Paris.
This Dior exhibit at The Denver Art Museum was so terrific that I was sad when it ended. The Dior will be open from now to March 3rd, 2019. It is worth it to go!
